about
Natalie Yiaxi is a multidisciplinary artist based in Nicosia. Her work is a continuous exploration of capturing the ineffable aspects of everyday life—those affective elements that often evade direct observation. To do so, she employs an expanding array of strategies, practices, and mediums, including sculptural gestures, drawings, publications, written and spoken word, sound, and video.
In 2018, Yiaxi co-founded the artist-run gallery PARTY Contemporary, which operated in Kaimakli until 2020. In 2016, she established the self-publishing imprint Bast Fooks, under which she publishes her artists' books and poetry. Her work has gained significant recognition, including being a finalist for the DESTE Prize in 2015. Additionally, in 2013, she co-represented the Republic of Cyprus at the 55th Venice Biennale.
